Leadership isn\u2019t about being everywhere. It\u2019s about knowing when to show up.<\/em><\/p>\n

There was a time when I thought being CC\u2019d on everything was good leadership.<\/p>\n

I wanted visibility. I wanted to stay in the loop. I wanted to make sure nothing slipped through the cracks.<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s what really happened:
My inbox became a dumpster fire.
My focus got diluted.
And the people under me, they learned to run everything through<\/em> me instead of past<\/em> me.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not leadership. That\u2019s micromanagement in disguise.<\/p>\n

So I made the shift\u2014from \u201ccopy me\u201d to \u201ccheckpoint me.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the difference?<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you copy me, I\u2019m passively involved in everything. You\u2019re playing it safe, hedging bets, and hoping I\u2019ll catch something.<\/p>\n

When you checkpoint me, you\u2019re running the mission. You\u2019re moving forward. You\u2019re owning the process\u2014and you\u2019re bringing me in when it matters.<\/p>\n

Not because you have to.<\/em>
Because it adds value.<\/em><\/p>\n
